Demand our generals pledge to disobey any illegal orders from Trump!
A firestorm erupted in Washington after six former CIA and military veteran Democrats released a video publicly urging the leaders and servicemembers of our armed forces to refuse to obey any illegal orders given to them by the Trump administration — the key word here being "illegal."
In a now-infamous video posted to Twitter, Sen. Elissa Slotkin, Sen. Mark Kelly, Rep. Jason Crow, Rep. Maggie Goodlander, Rep. Chris Deluzio, and Rep. Chrissy Houlahan said the "threats to our Constitution" are coming "from right here at home," and repeatedly urged the military and intelligence community to "refuse illegal orders."
This should not be controversial, and the Republican response to it makes it clear that, in fact, they are planning to issue many illegal orders.
Demand our generals publicly vow to not follow any illegal orders!
White House racism czar Stephen Miller said, "It is insurrection, plainly, directly, without question…It's a general call for rebellion from the CIA and the armed services of the United States by Democrat lawmakers." Donald Trump took to Truth Social to share many of his followers' posts labeling the Democrats "traitors" and even one missive calling for them to be HANGED.
The law is the law is the law, and it must be obeyed, no matter who gives the order or for what reason.
