Demand Congress reject Republicans' racist MAMDANI Act!
When Republican Rep. Chip Roy introduced the Measures Against Marxism’s Dangerous Adherents and Noxious Islamists (MAMDANI) Act on the House floor in April, he officially traded in his white nationalist dog whistle for a bullhorn. The Texas bigot’s bill served several purposes beyond beefing up his xenophobic bona fides. Firstly, to ban the entry of any foreign national who does not align with Roy’s very specific Christian nationalist worldview. Secondly, to deny naturalization and enable the deportation of non-citizens who fall under that same category. And thirdly, to give the federal government the wildly unconstitutional power to denaturalize any current US citizens whom Roy and his fellow MAGA radicals identify as “advocates for socialism, communism, Marxism, or Islamic fundamentalism.”
Aside from being patently absurd, the acronym of Roy’s hateful bill erases any doubt about exactly who is living rent free in the MAGA Republican’s head these days. And while it’s easy to laugh at, the contents of this fascist assault on free speech and religious freedom are anything but funny.
Tell Congress to reject Rep. Roy’s fascist MAMDANI Act!
In addition to handing the federal government unconstitutional powers to deport basically anyone it wants, the MAMDANI Act would also strip courts of the ability to review any determination made under its provisions, meaning deportation and denaturalization decisions would be final, with no avenue for legal challenge. This isn't border security or immigration policy — it's an ideological purity test so extreme it would make McCarthy blush.
Were Congress to pass this monstrosity of a bill, the Trump regime would have carte blanche to round up and deport anyone caught "writing, circulating, printing, displaying, possessing, or publishing any written, electronic, or printed matter" it claims is supportive of ideologies it doesn’t like. A college essay or any random social media post could literally be grounds for denaturalization, deportation, or both. The Democratic Socialists of America — a mainstream American political organization with hundreds of thousands of members, including Mayor Zohran Mamdani! — is specifically singled out in Roy’s bill, for heaven’s sake.
Tell Congress to reject the MAMDANI Act in its entirety, defend the constitutional rights of every person on American soil, and refuse to let Rep. Roy’s delusional, anti-immigrant vendetta become the law of the land!
