Tell Republicans to denounce Trump’s heinous attacks on the Pope!
Not content with the quagmire of his own making unfolding in the Middle East, Donald Trump has apparently decided to wage yet another war, this time taking on…the frickin’ Pope. Seriously. After Pope Leo XIV — the first American-born pontiff in history — issued an impassioned plea for peace and decried the president’s outrageous threat to commit genocide in Iran, Trump responded not with reflection, but with a 334-word Truth Social tantrum, wherein he declared the Holy Father "WEAK," "terrible," and unworthy of his office.
Trump then capped off this assault on the head of the Catholic Church by posting an AI-generated image of himself as Jesus Christ, performing a miracle healing — on Orthodox Easter, no less. This is not the behavior of a pious or serious man. These are the impulses of a malignant narcissist who believes he answers to no one, not even the God he claims to worship.

The Holy Father is not a political opponent. He is the spiritual leader of 1.4 billion Catholics — including tens of millions of Americans — and he is doing exactly what the Gospel compels him to do: plead for peace, defend the dignity of ALL human life, and refuse to bless or condone the machinery of war.
If congressional Republicans can muster fake outrage over a random late-night comedian's joke, surely they can speak up when the president of the United States wages a sacrilegious smear campaign against the Vicar of Christ. This the party of FaMiLy VaLuEs™, after all.
